TRAY LINE – COLORBOND MATT

Inspired by architecture

The introduction by BlueScope Steel of the Matt COLORBOND® was born by the inspiration of architecture. A shift in buildings aesthetics and a recognition that all colours and textures appear differently from one location to another has seen the introduction of five new Matt colours pitched directly towards the façade market. Tray Line and Matt COLORBOND® work seamlessly together to really reflect the depth of colour and texture found in the Matt colour range. Tray Lines thin yet fine 25mm and 38mm ribs maximises the impact on light from the shifting sun throughout the day with its subtle shift in tones and hues which really draws the eye.

TRAY LINE – COLORBOND MATT

Depth of colour

When using Matt COLORBOND® Tray Line it is imperative that the decision maker looks past the surface and see how the colour reacts with the building’s other primary construction materials such as timber, stone, brick and the environment it sits within. Colour is a sensory perception and evokes visual stimulation and emotions.

  • Tray Line Surfmist® Matt– stimulates a very clean, crisp, bright which helps diffuse light sources and reduces shadows
  • Tray Line Shale Grey® Matt– evokes and very calm and neutral but also can stimulates an industrial feel often seen by the use of concrete walls which are cheap and abundant
  • Tray Line Dune® Matt– embodies a calming and more intimate look and feel and often is used with a grey pallet for a more earthy connection.
  • Tray Line Basalt® Matt– definitely has a grand feeling about it, it is dignified maybe exclusive and when used in smaller spaces can offer a more subdued feel.
  • Tray Line Monument® Matt– is a very dominant colour that associates power and often used to create depth and intrigue with abstract design

Textured aesthetic

Matt COLORBOND® Tray Line textured finish plays a dual role in the building’s aesthetic. Its express quality in the material and gives a particular play to light. Although when viewing you see both qualities simultaneously, they both offer very different appeals. Using a range of different cover panels in the Matt COLORBOND® Tray Line you can produce patterns and randomness that reflects the environment around us where nothing is uniform and repetitive.
