RIBBON STRIP – STANDARD COLORBOND

Modern Finesse

Ribbon Strip cladding made from COLORBOND® commands a strong street presence that reflects a sophisticated and artistic aesthetic. For years ribbed metal cladding profiles were synonymous with low cost rural building. The Designer Panel range of cladding profiles like the Colorbond Ribbon Strip in 25mm and 38mm obliterates this perception bringing a modern finesse to an Australian icon in metal cladding.

RIBBON STRIP – STANDARD COLORBOND

Colour and choice

COLORBOND® steel has a range of 22 standard colours that has been established across the entire continent, reflecting a colour pallet that respects our earthy land we live in. From the greens found in Eucalyptus trees, to the reds and browns found in our great outback, and the sand surf in our coastline there are colours and choice to suit all areas of Australia.

Due to our harsh weather choosing the appropriate Colorbond Ribbon Strip colour can be a balancing act between aesthetics, solar absorbance and glare. Metal cladding naturally gets hot and darker colors exaggerate this further, the semi matt finish of Colorbond can often lend the lighter the colour to also be glary when in full sun. The additional of the COLORBOND® WHITEHAVEN has been introduced to help reduce the annual cooling energy costs of your build by up to 7.5% compared to SURFMIST COLORBOND®.

Light and shadows

Ribbon Strip cladding offers 2 rolled rib heights 25mm and 38mm, as opposed to traditional cladding types like Corrugated Iron or Spandek which are too thin in the profile height to make the most of light play and shadows often rendering them as a one-dimensional cladding type. The deeper 25mm and 38mm rib profiles found on the Colorbond Ribbon Strip and smaller pan size allows the casting of shadows that creep across the entire panel rendering a smooth reflective feel.
